Artist Spotlight: Young Relly @dreamrecordsceo

From a humble beginning in the small town of Colonial Beach, Va, Terrell Turner aka Young Relly began his music career as a member of the "locally infamous" Pound Property music group. Now 20, at the age of 14 rapping was only a hobby, but after garnering much attention it seemed evident that he was born to do this and would one day become a
superstar.

In 9th grade Relly met a new student, Dominique "CEO" Brown, a kid from Augusta, GA that had just moved to Colonial Beach. Their mutual love for hip hop and music as a whole would turn into a lasting friendship. They began writing music and competing with each other, seeing who could write the best verses. Everyday at school it became a normal routine to swap rhyme books between classes and record verses on Relly's cellphone.

Surprisingly in the middle of 10th grade Dominique moved back to his hometown of Augusta. They both continued to rap, Relly pursuing the music as a career more avidly and Dominique eventually put his pen down. After graduating high school Relly dropped his first mixtape outside of the Pound Property label, "Barely Legal" with another local rapper named Ghost.

Months later Dominique called Relly with the proposition of helping him launch a record label that would feature Relly as the front runner. He agreed, dropped his first solo mixtape for D.R.E.A.M. RECORDS, LLC titled "Grind Time Vol. 1", moved to Augusta, and began recording what was expected to be "Grind Time Vol. 2". In the middle of recording, he moved back to Virginia and finished the mixtape dropping it as "Cold and Hungry". He released a single, "On Point" that would start a frenzy and establish his new-found, trademark ad-lib "YAWWWW!". People everywhere throughout VA's Northern Neck took notice and began randomly chanting the trademark "YAWWWW!". The song gained spins at all of the local parties and Relly began performing the hit every weekend. This small success of capturing his area was not enough for Relly as CEO had yet to make the same mark in the larger Augusta area. November 2009.

Relly dropped his 3rd solo mixtape "2TRUE". This mixtape increased the respect in the Northern Neck and Augusta communities gaining more attention, with hits like "Somebody Got Banged", "She Got That", and "Presidential" which has gained thousands of Youtube views to date. Still hungry for more attention Relly began throwing his own parties and performing the hits while recording a compilation mixtape, "22443"
to put artists in his area on. A more party oriented mixtape Relly quickly began recording his 5th mixtape "The Demonstration", a mixtape stated by Dominique to prove his "undeniable talent" and "MAKE Augusta listen".

The mixtape featured Relly's biggest hit to date, "I Know It". A street track with a versatile beat produced by Young Dave, a VA producer/rapper, "I Know It" is featured worldwide on many internet radio stations, a few terrestrial stations, and a few local clubs. Now, with an unofficial release date for his next projects, Relly is working hard on promoting "I Know It" and recording "Grind Time 1.5" and "Grind Time, Vol. 2". They both can be expected in the third and fourth quarter of 2010.
