Tarik Lartey professionally known as Tey Martel or Chip Jones was born November 11, 1981 in Kansas City, Missouri. At the young age of 11, Tey began performing at the YMCA sponsored event HotSummer Nights" where he would go on to win consecutive battles from 1992 to 1996. From that point on Tey began writing rhymes which led to Tey’s introduction to the Kansas City based Hip Hopgroup High Class Entertainment in 1995. Tey has worked with heavy hitters in the industry such as Tupac's Outlawz, Daz Dillinger, Coniyac of Doggy’s Angel’s; producers such as J. Wells, KHAO and many more. Tey Martel's solo album “ManifestContent” released in 2008 featuring Snoop Dogg, Marvaless, as well as The Outlawz and many more, received rave reviews from the masses!
