In an age where rappers are a dime a dozen and almost everybody wants some rap game fame, Toronto emcee Nes knows that it will take much more than a few clever words to really make it in hip-hop. Diligently refining his craft and maturing his sound this young man is determined to secure success that endures beyond the status of a one hit wonder or an artist who is here today and gone tomorrow. With just the right mix of passion and skill, desire and talent; Nes is certain to have a career with some real longevity. The youngest of 3, he came from Iraq at the tender age of 3 when he and his family fled to Canada in hopes of being able to provide a future of opportunity for their children. Remembering some of the struggles and obstacles his family faced when they first arrived, he knows that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. Back when he was about 6 years old Nes can recall memorizing and reciting the tracks of the artists he was listening to, and that initial fascination became responsible for sparking a passion that would see him start working on his own music at the age of 11. By the time he graduated high school Nes already managed to record 4 complete mixtapes using only an old computer and a beat up microphone his best friend gave him. Heavily influenced by the music his older siblings and cousins played when he was young, he is true to the hip-hop standard but also possesses hints of an R&B undertone. His content is both relatable and commercially appealing thanks to his meticulous flow and his careful lyrical considerations. When describing his general sound Nes says, “I gave my music a theme, a Super Hero theme. The world has taken a new appreciation for comic books, super hero movies etc. I grew up on all that stuff and i love it so I based my music on it. I created a persona in my music. I believe it makes every song a lot better and more interesting." At the moment this eager rapper is working towards achieving all of his goals and to continue making great music everyone can enjoy. With a voice that is sure to please the ladies and a lyrical game that will definitely impress the fellas, this release is one that promises to offer something for all ears. For Nes now, more than ever, is the time – the time for him to break out and show the world just what he’s made of; after all, they won’t know what they’ve been missing until they actually hear him.
